The national release for LOVE BROKE THROUGH will be January 26th, 2010, but we have been given permission to let our list and our family and friends have a chance to get them early. If you look over here, though, you'll see something that looks suspiciously like the NEW CD!! Yep, right there, in the store. Each gentleman received a grocery list with instructions that their assigned groceries needed to arrive at our house by sometime Friday evening.Well, it's here! But, shh, we're really not "officially" releasing until January. Partly as a way to involve the gentlemen and partly as a way to share the expenses. "It was decided that brunch would be our thing, and after a guest list was settled upon I came up with an idea. "'It would be fun to have some friends over here, just a couple of couples, and kids of course.' So began a lovely tradition that lived on for six or eight years." "'Well I don't want to go out.' Was her response. "Many years ago I asked my wife how she would like to celebrate Mother's day. "The thought of no planning, shopping, prepping, cleanup, and making sure everyone has what they need to enjoy dinner around the table would be the BEST." Hence, I do not get a break from the kitchen plus the drawback is not being able to enjoy the family and relax before mealtime. There is such a laid-back coziness atmosphere for all ages to enjoy. "I enjoy cooking and entertaining in my own home. "My IDEAL Mother's Day Dinner would revolve around a personal chef coming into my home to prepare a meal for our family. "After that, I will take gifts to my mother and sister and have a mimosa with a baked good with them. I am thinking more of breakfast at home with my kids being cooked by my husband (eggs, toast, pancakes, veggie bacon). ![]() I thought I would be running back to my favorite brunch spots but I don't want the hassle of long waits with lots of people. "To be honest, my ideal dining plans for Mother's Day has changed from where I thought I would be at this time. I just want to be outside and take advantage of some beautiful weather.” It doesn’t matter if we’re at a restaurant or at home. This year I want barbecue or a brunch outside with mimosas, bagels, bacon and eggs. "It was a beautiful spring day, and I cut daffodils from the yard. I was pregnant, and we surprised everyone with ultrasound photos. “One Mother’s Day we were celebrating with my mom and my mother- and father-in-law. And to the moms who talked to me for this article: I hope someone special is reading. Mealtimes that were spent tenderly and methodically enjoying every butter- and garlic-filled bite. Although I long for that meal I can’t get (currently Lake Park Bistro doesn’t have it on the menu), maybe I long for what it represents even more. ![]()
